This practice of cooking gives rise to what term? familiar in a totally different context.

Hint #2/3: Term for a certain bunch (of people)

Answer: Buccaneer. Coming from the French boucanier, which referred to pirates of Caribbean who cooked meat on a wooden grille or boucan.
