What used to be based out of the place in visual 1 is now based in the place shown in visual 2. Identify both places.

Answer: The visuals are Potala palace in Lhasa, Tibet and McLeod Ganj, a suburb of Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh. They are the former and current locations of the Tibetian government in exile and the Dalai Lama. Hirak, QoD, Mekie, an anon, RajeshK, Arvind, Manix, Anshul, Iam, Adi, Schmetterling and Rajesh got it. Well done.

The Tibetan government of the Dalai Lama which was earlier headquartered at Potala Palace (Lhasa, Tibet) now functions from McLeod Ganj (Dharamsala, India).

The Central Tibetan Administration. The places are Potala place and Dharmshala.

Potala Palace, Lhasa was the residence of the Dalai Lama till the 14th Dalai Lama fled to India -
The Tibetian Government in exile is now based out of McLeodganj.
