Question - 122

Today's question is courtesy Swapnaa. Something spontaneous happened in front of the building shown in the first visual in 1969 that has come to be viewed as a defining event in U.S history. Visual 2 shows people marching in commemoration of the event during its first year anniversary. Identify the event/building.

Answer: Stonewall riots, the first significant event in the gay and lesbian rights movement named after the Stonewall inn in front of which the first riots occurred. Iam, Raghu, Mekie, Keshav(excellent guess), Hirak and Rajesh got it. Well done.

Stonewall riots (Greenwich Village, NY)- The first demonstration by homosexuals against persecution by the US government.

Gay Pride marches are held each year to commemorate the anniversary of this incident.

well, from the color of the curtains and the photo on the shop window, i'm guessing it has something to do with gay pride. maybe the first protests or march took place outside the shop.
