Map of what?

Answer: Its the map of Malgudi from R.K.Narayan's universe. Keshav, Vikrant, Swapnaa, RajeshK, Anirudh Patil, Harish, Arvind, Raghu, Hirak, Rajesh, Ashwin and QoD got it. Well done.

it's been said that the nobel committee often ignored this great indian writer because they thought his books were self help books- the painter of signs, the english teacher, the financial expert etc. the only novel not based in this town is 'grandmother's tale'.

Malgudi - The hills and tiger gave the hint. And you forgot to white out a place which has Malgudi visible. Also, I have a feeling and I am sure many south Indians have the same feeling that Malgudi is loosely based on our home town, Thanjavur especially the relative position of the rail road track, references to Lawley Hall and Ellmen St (ellai amman koil theru).
