Connect the two paintings.
Answer: The paintings are "Liberty leading the people" by Eugene Delacroix and "Viva la vida" by Frida Kahlo. The connect is Coldplay's latest album Viva la vida whose album cover featured Delacroix's painting. Mekie, Hari, Raghu, Hirak, Iam, Rajeev, tsp, Rajesh and Swapnaa got it. Well done.

viva la vida (cold play)
L: Song's artwork based on 'La Liberté guidant le peuple', Eugène Delacroix (French revolution)
R: Song's title based upon 'Viva la vida', Frida Kahlo
Coldplay
Viva la vida
Liberty leading the people - Viva la Vida - coldplay - Kahlo
The paintings are:
"Liberty leading the people" (French revolution) by Eugene Delacroix
Viva La Vida by Frida Kahlo
Connect: Coldplay's new album "Viva La vida" with "Liberty leading the people" as the cover
Something I saw elsewhere: Apparently, every year or so, a French model is chosen by vote, and Marianne (Liberty) busts sculpted using that model are sent to each Town Hall as replacements. My conclusion after inspecting them is that Delacroix's model was the bust of them all!
livin' la vida loca ... oh, oops, sorry i meant viva la vida by coldplay
Coldplay: Chris Martin was inspired by Frida's watermelons but the latest album features "Liberty Leading the People" by Eugene Delacroix.
Connect: Viva la vida
L: Cover of Coldplay's Viva la vida album (painting on the cover: Liberty leading the people)
R: Frida Kahlo's painting of the same name
The painting "Liberty Leading the People" on the cover of Coldplay's Viva La Vida. Thats the name of Frida's painting of the watermelons (the last one she ever painted, I think).
