The visuals are the Pleiades (seven sisters in Greek mythology, also a star cluster with seven bright stars), the seven erstwhile big oil companies (some have merged together now) and the seven northeastern Indian states which are given this nickname due to their geographic and cultural similarities. Another famous "seven sisters" which I couldn't find a way to pictorially depict is the group of seven historically women's liberal arts colleges - Barnard, Bryn Mawr, Holyoke, Radcliffe, Smith, Vassar and Wellesley.
