Question - 73

The blanked out region in the map gets its name from the geographical features shown in the first visual. Identify.

Answer: The Thermopylae pass where the 300 spartans made their famous last stand. The name means "hot gates" and derives from the hot springs found in that area. Divya, Keshav, Mekhala, Iam, Swapnaa, Rajesh, QoD and Rajeev got it. Well done.

Picture 2 is the Thermopylae Pass. Its name comes from the natural hot water springs (picture 1) in the region.
